So it is no surprise to us, that the Space Coast was recently ranked the No. 5 best place to live in Florida, when it comes to getting the most for your money.
That's according to the financial technology company SmartAsset, which recently released a study on Florida comparing median incomes and cost-of-living data nationwide to find the counties where people have the most purchasing power.
SmartAsset put Brevard County's annual cost of living at $31,229 and the area's median income at $48,925 a year. That gives Brevard a "purchasing power" index rating of 70.94.
"The Purchasing Power Index measures how favorable your cost of living to income ratio is — so the places with higher incomes, coupled with a lower cost of living, are going to rank highest. Ultimately, this is meant to show the places across the U.S. where people get the most value for each dollar they spend."
"This report confirms what locals have long known and enjoyed about our great community," said Jennifer Sugarman, president and chief executive officer of the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce.
"Brevard County is in many respects a gem that is still being discovered, like peeling back the layers of an affordable onion, as we see daily at our Chamber and Tourist Information Center," Sugarman said. "People come from all over the world to see us, and many request relocation information by the time it's all said and done."
The Space Coast can boast some of the best values in Florida, if not the nation when it comes to real estate. Looking for more information about moving to Brevard? Read more here: http://bit.ly/2tTz08i
