Designers across the country are seeing continued interest from their clients in painted cabinet finishes. What is changing is that clients are getting more daring when it comes to their color choices. Although the number one color choice is still pure white, people are choosing to paint their cabinets soft blues, soft greens, butter and gray tones. In addition to different paint colors people are also bringing in different wood finishes. Worn, or distressed wood will be popular in 2017, and seeing the wood grain and character of these accent pieces is also popular.
When it comes to modern kitchens, the trends are going in somewhat the opposite, and leaning more towards traditional style. Designers are seeing that their clients also want painted finishes but with high-gloss finishes. Keeping things minimal is still a trend as well as using earth-friendly materials.
Design for all Styles
Although there are some stark differences between traditional and modern kitchen designs, there are some common trends that both design types are seeing. Both are looking for designs that include open shelving, as opposed to wall cabinets and many are using quartz countertops.
